The US SEC released a statement announcing the details of its upcoming third crypto custody roundtable, which will be held in Washington, D.C., on April 25th, 2025. As per sources, this meeting will aim for greater clarity on the crypto landscape. As a result, the event will be called “Know Your Custodian: Key Considerations for Crypto Custody.”
SEC Commissioner Hester M. Peirce, who also chairs the Crypto Task Force, stressed that more clarity is needed as these assets slowly become part of traditional financial institutions.
The event, which is scheduled from 1 to 5 p.m., will feature Acting SEC Chairman Mark Uyeda, Hester Pierce, and Caroline Crenshaw. The roundtable will have two panels. Zach Zweihorn of Davis Polk & Wardell LLP will moderate the panels.
The roundtable will feature representatives from major crypto firms, including Fidelity, Kraken, Fireblocks, etc. The roundtable aims to discuss safe storage and cryptocurrency protection. After this, there will be two more panels where issues of Tokenization and DeFi regulations will be addressed.
These roundtables are crucial for crypto because they will clarify the US finances and cryptocurrency usage. Therefore, it is important to see what the verdict will be at the end of the meeting.
