Crimes against crypto entrepreneurs have been on the rise. In 2025, we have already seen two cases of violence against crypto professionals and their families. Last month, the European crypto community was shaken to the core when the father of a crypto professional was kidnapped.
Things escalated when a finger of the apprehended individual was severed to use as leverage in the ransom demand. However, French police have made headway and reached a crucial point.
As per sources, police have managed to arrest several suspects who were allegedly involved in the kidnapping. The alarming thing about the abduction is that it was executed in broad daylight.
On May 1st, the father of the entrepreneur was kidnapped from the Paris’ southern 14th arrondissement in broad daylight by people wearing ski masks. The brazenness and audacity of the perpetrators have managed to alarm authorities and prompt action.
This is not the first time such an incident has taken place in France. Therefore, this has put people on edge regarding violent crimes against crypto entrepreneurs.
