Users will give bitcoin or cash tips via Twitter’s new “Tips” function, which has already started rolling out. For the time being, it’s only available to iOS users. The company’s roadmap further includes providing support for NFT authentication.

Twitter Inc. said on Thursday that it would start rolling out the bitcoin tipping tool to iOS users. The company’s official Twitter account reads that depending on one’s Tips settings and the regional availability of third-party payment providers; one can send bitcoin using Tips.
If an account has Tips enabled, the Tips symbol appears next to the follow button on the profile page. This was explained by Twitter product manager Esther Crawford. There will be a list of payment services that the account has enabled, and you may pick one of them. She said that after you tap one of those, you’ll be whisked away from Twitter and directed to that app’s payment page to transfer cash. Twitter will not be taking a share of your revenue.
Crawford also continued to say that users may now easily tip with bitcoin using Strike. A strike is a payment software built on the Bitcoin Lightning Network. This software will enable users to transmit bitcoin faster. The strike is accessible across the United States, except Hawaii, New York, El Salvador, where bitcoin is now legal money alongside the U.S. dollar.
She further explained how you may now include your bitcoin address in your profile when Tips are enabled. People may give you money immediately by copying and pasting your bitcoin address into their digital payment platform of choice.
NFT Authentication Support Will Be Twitter’s New Venture
Twitter also revealed that it intends to offer non-fungible token authentication. Crawford said they are very enthusiastic about investigating NFT authentication shortly. It will be a way to show support for the artists who make this work genuine by providing a stamp. In addition, to make it possible to connect your crypto wallets, you’ll be able to track and display your NFT holdings on Twitter.
According to her, they are interested in making it visually apparent that it’s an authorized avatar and then giving you some fascinating facts about the origin of that NFT. According to a Twitter spokesman, NFT authentication would take the shape of a badge that will appear on users’ profile photos and signify that the NFT belongs to the user.
